Fall is here...!! I am sitting here in my favorite coffee shop, drinking seasonal apple cider with a bit of Korean Ginseng extract
thrown in for good balance. The windows are open, the breeze is
chilly, and the leaves are beginning to change and fall off the
trees. There is a great line in a Denison Witmer song about how the leaves ask for forgiveness and let go in the fall. What a great mental imagery.
I have never given much thought to all the stuff that my grandfather
left behind, but that man was a SERIOUS collector. He collected
antique keys, glass canes, porcelain dolls, brass stuff, little old knick-knacks, and had a serious coin collection.
I have been thinking lately that I might be wise to sell some of those
things and cash in on some of those collections and pay off some of my
debt before it collects more interest! I got a call
yesterday from a new lender that will offer me a point off my interest
rate, and I think I'll take it. It could take off $1500 over the
length of my loan. Now, if I could only just get rid of the the
whole thing....
Thanks to the growth boom of young people in Northern Kentucky, Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky are adding some totally sweet condos for sale in Cincinnati,
and I'm stoked about what that growth of young urban professionals will
do for my area of town! We are in a serious shortage of quality
young people as far as night life goes!
I'm sitting in a coffee shop that I have begun to frequent-due to the
fair trade coffee and nice atmosphere. So anyways, I just decided
to order the cheapest thing on the menu so
I could use their free internet. I love internet when I just have
to pay like a buck for tea, and I can sit for hours. I DO wish
that I had wireless in my apartment, but hey-budgets are rough!
It's too bad I rent instead of own and can't put up any wallpaper.
Because there are some amazing patterns out there! I love the
effect of covering up an unattractive wall, and being able to look at
something you like as you fall asleep at night. I guess I'll have
to stick with other ways to decorate my walls!
Yesterday was September 11th, and it honestly made me really sad to
think about all that happened. I thought about where I was, how I
felt watching tv, and what kind of shock my college mates and I were
experiencing. My grandmother lived in D.C. and we couldn't get
ahold of her for 2 or 3 days, and it freaked me out to no end! I
found some cool stuff here, and I would highly suggest supporting the troops and people who make our lives free. Thanks to our humble servants!
I went to a concert the other day, and I was pleasantly surprised to discover that they were giving away free Corona merchandise to all who attended the concert! We got free corona hats,
and all sorts of other great stuff. Too bad they weren't just
giving away free beer...ha. Next time I'm gonna ask for
more than one hat so I can give it to my friend who collects Corona
stuff.
Have you ever seen the show called Wiggles? I just asked someone
what it was, because I heard of it, and they described it as "a show
where four grown men from Australia dance and sing, It's a children's
show. " I'm not sure how I feel about that. But, I looked
them up online, and found these sweet wiggles pajamas.
Oh my...So this afternoon I was walking around Tower Park and saw the most outrageous party for a two year old. I read a news story about $15,000 kid birthday parties being the new trend, well this wasn't one of those but it was extreme to the max. The whole thing was based on the lovely character Curious George - recent smash movie. The entire Curious George Birthday party was brimming with Curious George birthday party supplies which are easy enough to find online. Love your kids but don't smother - believe me...
